About us

Blacoh offers engineered fluid control products manufactured to exacting standards, in a wide variety of sizes, materials and pressure ratings to suit virtually every application.

Pulsation and Surge Control

The start and stop action of positive displacement pumps rapidly accelerates and decelerates fluid in motion resulting in pulsations observed as pressure spikes. Pulsation dampeners absorb the energy of these pressure spikes by accumulating and then releasing process fluid when the pump is on its suction stroke. By keeping the fluid in motion, dampeners eliminate vibration and the pulsing, inconsistent flow caused by pulsation.

Stabilize Inlet Pressure and Flow. Eliminate Acceleration Head Loss. Extend Pump Diaphragm Life.

The inlet valve on positive displacement pumps alternately opens and closes creating acceleration and deceleration of fluid flow to the pump, causing alternating drops in pressure and pressure spikes in the inlet piping.

Installed at the pump’s inlet, the Inlet Stabilizer acts as an accumulator to store fluid and release it back into the line as needed. Virtually all acceleration head loss is eliminated because the pump draws fluid from the dampener and not the pipeline, avoiding the risk of cavitation and ensuring complete chamber fill on each inlet stroke of the pump.

Pulsation Dampeners for AODD Pumps

Multiple Applications. Multiple Fluids. One Dampener.

The AODDampener series is Blacoh’s most cost effective dampener model for systems using AODD pumps. Designed exclusively for use with air operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps, this stainless steel dampener is pre-sized for pumps up to 3” and features a unique fully automatic air control to save on energy costs.

Hybrid Pulsation Dampener Plus Back Pressure Valve

Using a back pressure valve alone does nothing to improve fluid flow. Adding a pulsation dampener will improve flow, but standard back pressure valves are not designed to work with dampeners. As pressure varies in the dampener, the back pressure valve negates the dampening effect by opening and closing before the dampener is able to capture a full pulse. Combining the functionality of a pulsation dampener and back pressure valve into a single piece of equipment optimizes the performance of both.

The quick opening and closing of a standard back pressure valves also creates too much flow (gain), resulting in inefficiency and chatter. Blacoh’s Hybrid Valve with patented flow stabilization technology ensures maximum dampening, applies continuous back pressure, and acts as an anti-siphon valve to create a smooth laminar flow with no valve chatter.

Diaphragm Seals and Gauge Guards

Isolate and Protect Process System Instrumentation.

Protect gauges and other system instrumentation from process fluid contamination and corrosion.

Accurately transfer process pressure without direct contact with process fluids.

Prevent erratic surges and clogging due to solids in process fluids.

Protect gauges from freezing and slurries.

Ensure accuracy and reliability of pressure instrumentation when working with corrosive or solids-laden fluids.

Reduce costs by replacing expensive gauges with low cost utility gauges.

Back Pressure Valves and Pressure Relief Valves

Improve Flow. Extend Service Life. Eliminate Valve Chatter.

Automatically Vent Gasses and Vapors in Pumping Systems.

Unvented gasses can accumulate and alter the pump flowrate or cause the pump to vapor lock.

Hazardous vapors can escape the system at pump startup, endangering personnel and damaging equipment.

Flow and metering instrumentation can give inaccurate readings due to gas or vapors in the system.

Pump priming can be difficult when there is unvented gas in the pump and discharge line.

Accurately Calibrate Metering Pump Flowrates.

Calibration columns are installed on the suction line of the pump with the top of the column vented back to the supply tank or drain. Using isolation valves, the column is filled with process fluid from the supply tank and drawn down in a timed, one minute test. The fluid remaining in the column at the end of the test is measured on the column’s graduated scale in both milliliters/minutes (mL/min) and US gallons/hour (US GPH).

Features

PVC or borosilicate glass columns with CNC precision machined end caps.

Sizes ranging from 100mL up to 20,000mL.

Sealed, removable and loose PVC end cap options.

Glass column end caps available in PVC, CPVC, Polypropylene, PVDF and 316L Stainless Steel.

NPT, BSP, union and flange connection options.

Deliver Chemicals into Process Pipelines Safely and Efficiently.

CNC precision machined components.

Body, quill and check disk in chemically resistant PVC, PVDF, Polypropylene or 316L Stainless Steel.

Spring-loaded check disk prevents process fluid backflow into the chemical feed and stops chemical flow when the pump is shut down.

In stock models with 0.50”, 0.75“ and 1.0” NPT connections for easy installation.

Choose from EPDM or Viton O-rings.

Custom quill lengths and connections available on request.

Prevent Product Loss and Hazardous Spills.

SPILLSTOP is a fully pneumatic device that attaches directly to the exhaust of an AODD pump. When the pump’s diaphragm fails, process fluid that would have been expelled out through the pump’s exhaust is captured in the SPILLSTOP’s housing receptacle. The contained fluid raises the internal float to automatically shut down the failed pump.

SPILLSTOP can also be equipped with an optional warning alarm whistle, pneumatic-to-electric switch to power warning lights or connect to a SCADA panel, and additional pump shutoff valves for multiple pumps, high suction tank applications, and/or backup pump startup.

FEATURES & SPECIFICATIONS

Available in vertical or horizontal designs.

Bladder is fixed to the outlet/inlet connection orifice located on the bottom or the side of the vessel.

The bladder is designed so it can expand to the full size of the vessel. This allows for greater drawdown volumes, and less stress on the bladder.

The air is trapped in the space between the outside of the bladder and the wall of the vessel. Therefore the liquid is not in contact with the steel walls of the vessel.
